If you are an existing patient, prescription refills will be provided after each appointment. Your provider will prescribe enough medication to last until your next scheduled visit. To ensure you receive your prescriptions on time, it is important to attend all scheduled appointments.
If you are not yet an established patient, you will need to contact your primary care provider (PCP) or previous prescriber to have your prescriptions filled.

First, don’t worry. We will give you a pass. If you miss your scheduled appointment for any reason, we will provide what is called a bridge prescription once you have rescheduled the missed appointment. However, this is a one-time deal per encounter; bridge prescriptions will not be written multiple times for consecutive missed appointments.

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs) and psychiatrists both assess, diagnose, and treat mental health conditions using medications, therapy, and other treatment modalities. The key difference lies in their training paths.
Psychiatrists are licensed, board-certified medical doctors who complete medical school followed by a psychiatry residency. PMHNPs, on the other hand, are registered nurses who complete traditional nursing school, and typically have several years of clinical nursing experience. They then go on to earn a master’s or doctoral degree specializing in psychiatric mental health nursing. They are also licensed and board-certified as advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs).
Both roles are qualified to provide high-quality mental health care, each bringing unique strengths from their respective educational and clinical backgrounds.

Most patients are seen every four weeks during the initial phase of treatment. As the provider and patient develop a stable, effective treatment plan, appointment frequency may be reduced at their mutual discretion.

Appointments are not required for every concern; however, scheduled visits are the time set aside to give you our full attention and address most questions or issues. We understand that needs may arise between appointments, and we’ll do our best to assist when possible. That said, certain aspects of care will require a scheduled appointment and cannot be addressed outside of one. If you find yourself unsure, contact the practice and we will guide you with the appropriate next step.
